Hypholoma (Fries) Kummer

Hypholoma is a genus of small to medium sized saprophytic mushrooms. In the past, Naematoloma (or Nematoloma) was used as a name for this genus.

Principle characteristics of the genus Hypholoma:

  • Spore print dark brown, dark redish-brown, purple-brown, dark grey-brown
  • Chrysocystidia present
  • Spores smooth, with an apical pore
  • Annulus typcially absent, sometimes a cortina
